Built to Global Railway Standards
ORing's commitment to quality means every product meets the strictest international railway certification requirements.
EN50155
European standard for electronic equipment used on rolling stock. Covers shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, and EMC requirements for railway environments.
EN50121-4
Railway EMC standard for emission and immunity of railway signalling and telecommunications apparatus. Ensures interoperability and non-interference within the rail environment.
EN 45545
European fire protection standard for railway vehicles. ORing products are designed to meet the fire reaction and resistance requirements for rolling stock materials.
IEC 62443-4-1
Cybersecurity standard for industrial automation and control systems. The T9000 series switches are designed and developed in accordance with IEC 62443-4-1, ensuring robust security lifecycle management from product design through delivery.
IRIS / ISO/TS 22163
International Railway Industry Standard (IRISIRIS / ISO/TS 22163
For railway applications, IRIS certification is important because railway projects require long-term reliability, strict quality control, and consistent supply chain performance. It helps customers identify qualified suppliers capable of supporting demanding rolling stock and railway infrastructure projects.), now aligned with ISO/TS 22163 — a company-level quality management certification encompassing project management, change management, supply chain, and design requirements specific to the railway sector.

Our Success Stories Span the Globe.
ORing EN50155 solutions are trusted by railway operators across 4 continents and 10+ countries.
Trusted by Railways Around the World
From Asia to Europe, ORing technology keeps passengers connected and operators in control.
In this railway project, ORing provided a complete onboard industrial networking solution for the Puyuma Express, with nearly 300 railway-grade devices installed across the trains. Designed for railway transportation, ORing's rugged EN50155-compliant products with M12 connectors ensure stable and reliable communication in high-vibration onboard environments.
The network connects onboard switches, IP cameras, information systems, LED displays, and other IP devices throughout the train. PoE-enabled switches simplify installation by delivering both power and data to connected devices over a single cable, reducing wiring complexity and installation costs.
ORing's serial device servers also enable existing serial-based systems to communicate over the IP network. With a complete onboard communication backbone, operators can deliver real-time passenger information, support video surveillance, and enhance overall passenger safety and train management.
For the Wenhu Line trains, ORing provided a railway-grade onboard Ethernet solution to connect IP cameras, entertainment systems, and serial devices across each cabin, improving passenger safety and onboard communication reliability.
ORing's PoE switches deliver both power and data through a single cable, reducing wiring complexity, installation costs, and in-vehicle space requirements. With redundancy and bypass functionality, the network helps ensure uninterrupted data transmission even during device or link failures.
ORing's serial device servers also enable legacy serial equipment to communicate over the IP network, allowing existing onboard systems to be integrated with modern Ethernet infrastructure.
A US high-speed railway operator upgraded its onboard wireless network to meet growing passenger demand for video streaming and high-bandwidth connectivity. In addition, video data from onboard IP cameras required a more powerful backhaul network, leading the operator to deploy 10G industrial Ethernet switches for future-ready onboard communication.
ORing's railway-grade industrial Ethernet switches provide 1G PoE ports for IP cameras and onboard devices, along with 10G uplinks to support high-bandwidth data transmission. PoE support simplifies camera deployment by delivering power and data over a single cable, reducing installation cost and complexity.
Designed for harsh railway environments, ORing's switches feature rugged M12 connectors, wide operating temperature capability, and reliable redundancy technologies. With ring redundancy and bypass functionality, traffic can be automatically redirected during link failures, ensuring uninterrupted onboard network communication.
As onboard systems such as real-time positioning, passenger information displays, video surveillance, and passenger counting continue to expand, traditional standalone communication architectures have become a challenge for fleet operations. With legacy 3G networks also being phased out, Belgian public transport operator De Lijn launched its "IT on board" project to upgrade the onboard IT infrastructure for buses and trams.
Based on the ITxPT standard, De Lijn built a unified IP-based architecture that connects all onboard devices through a single network and shares core services such as time synchronization and GNSS positioning. To support a scalable and future-ready onboard network, De Lijn selected ORing's industrial-grade 5G onboard communication solution as its communication platform.
ORing provided a highly reliable onboard Ethernet switching solution for the Passenger Information System of the Fuxing Hao high-speed train. Each compartment is equipped with rugged card-type Ethernet switches to build a stable PIS network for real-time data transmission. With Gigabit connectivity, M12 connectors, PoE support, and bypass functionality, the solution ensures reliable communication during train operation.
PIS and video servers installed in the dining car transmit video, audio, train speed, and station information to each compartment through the onboard network. Link aggregation combines multiple Ethernet links to increase bandwidth and enhance redundancy. If one link fails, traffic can be automatically rerouted through active links to maintain uninterrupted communication.
ORing's railway networking solutions have been widely used in AFC, CBTC, and PIS systems for high-speed trains, metros, and trams. With EN50155 / EN50121 compliance and IRIS certification, ORing is a trusted partner for secure and reliable railway communication applications.
