ORing Industrial Networking, a provider of industrial networking solutions, will exhibit at Enlit Europe 2026 in Vienna, Austria, from November 10 to 12, 2026. Under the theme “Secure & Resilient Industrial Networking for the Digital Grid,” ORing will focus on grid resilience, operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, grid digitalization, and infrastructure upgrades, helping utilities build reliable industrial Ethernet networks connecting field devices, substations, and control centers.
Covering power generation, transmission, distribution, and end use, Enlit Europe brings together utilities, technology providers, and industry experts. The event is a key venue for the power industry to evaluate grid technologies, share deployment experience, and explore new partnerships.
Strengthening Substation Communications with IEC 61850-3 and HSR/PRP Redundancy
ORing will showcase rack-mount, DIN-rail, modular, and PoE-enabled Ethernet switches designed for power utility applications, addressing field connectivity, data aggregation, and backbone networking requirements. Visitors will get an early look at the upcoming IGS-PR9084GP+, IGS-P9084GPM, and IGS-P9084GPMI series. Also on display will be communication and I/O expansion modules and fault circuit indicators (FCIs) for overhead lines.
Designed to meet IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 requirements, ORing’s utility-grade switches are built for harsh power plant and substation environments and offer dual power inputs and multiple Ethernet redundancy mechanisms. Selected models support High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) and Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) modules, allowing data transmission to continue with zero packet loss and zero recovery time if a single network path fails.
Advancing Grid Digitalization from Field Devices to the Control Center
Grid digitalization depends on reliable, real-time communication between field devices and control systems. ORing’s utility-grade switches offer quality of service (QoS) support for IEC 61850 traffic, a built-in Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS) server, and IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP), enabling priority handling of critical power system traffic, device monitoring, and precise time synchronization.
For fault detection at the grid edge, ORing’s FCIs support overhead distribution lines operating at 6.6 to 22.8 kV. They detect short-circuit and ground faults while providing indications for both permanent and transient faults. Bright, flashing LEDs with 360-degree visibility allow maintenance crews to identify faults in the field. Fault information and current readings can also be transmitted to a data concentrator unit (DCU) over a 2.4 GHz wireless link, helping crews narrow down fault locations and speed up inspections and repairs.
Integrating Existing Systems and Supporting Higher Bandwidth
ORing’s utility-grade switches support industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP to ensure interoperability between new and existing systems. High-density fiber interfaces and modular expansion options support field device connectivity and data aggregation from distributed nodes, while Gigabit or 10GbE uplinks meet backbone bandwidth requirements. Models with Layer 3 routing enable communication across subnets, connecting systems in different areas. Utilities can expand their networks in stages as requirements evolve and centrally monitor and manage devices through the Open-Vision network management platform.
Combining IEC 62443 Product Security with ICS Cracker Security Validation
As power equipment becomes increasingly connected, OT cybersecurity has become an essential part of critical infrastructure deployment. ORing incorporates cybersecurity into its product design to protect critical OT infrastructure. Multiple switch models meet IEC 62443-4-2 requirements and offer IEEE 802.1X authentication, VLAN-based network segmentation, access control lists (ACLs), as well as secure management through HTTPS, SSH, and SNMPv3. These features help restrict unauthorized access and control communications between systems.
For product security validation, ORing has launched ICS Cracker, an industrial control system cybersecurity platform for attack simulation and security validation. Through simulated attack scenarios, vulnerability scanning, and security testing, ICS Cracker helps equipment manufacturers and system integrators identify security gaps and assess the effectiveness of protective measures. It also provides test evidence to support compliance assessments related to IEC 62443 and the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Schedule a Meeting to Explore New Business Opportunities
ORing’s power utility networking solutions are widely deployed in substations across Vietnam, India, China, Europe, and the Americas, reflecting extensive experience in international deployments and system integration. Utilities, equipment manufacturers, and system integration partners are invited to schedule a meeting with the ORing team at Enlit Europe 2026 to discuss how to build secure, reliable, and scalable communications infrastructure for the digital grid.
